Xiaomi Redmi S2 è stato presentato il 10 Maggio 2018 dal colosso tecnologico. Si tratta di un dispositivo dotato del collaudatissimo processore che già abbiamo visto in tutti i medio gamma di Xiaomi come il Redmi 5 Plus e tanti altri. Il pannello montato è un 5.99 pollici in risoluzione HD+ e formato 18:9 in tecnologia IPS.
Come anticipato il processore montato su questo dispositivo è il Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 una CPU octa-core che si spinge fino a 2.0 GHz affiancata dalla GPU Adreno 506, il tutto è coadiuvato da 3/4 GB di RAM e 32/64 GB di memoria interna espandibile tramite microSD. Inoltre questo dispositivo è il primo di Xiaomi capace di ospitare due sim e una microsd simultaneamente.
Ciò che rende veramente interessante questo dispositivo è il reparto fotografico, infatti è il primo dispositivo economico ad integrare l'AI. Il comparto multimediale è quindi composto da una dual camera posteriore da 12 + 5 mega-pixel con apertura f/2.2 dove l'AI entra in gioco per migliorare le fotografie in Portrait Mode. Anteriormente si trova una selfie camera da 16 mega-pixel che grazie all'intelligenza artificiale riesce a restituire degli scatti migliorati in modo da risultare sempre belli nei propri autoscatti.
Ovviamente non manca un lettore d'impronte posteriori ed inoltre il dispositivo può vantare il Face Unlock. Sotto la scocca troviamo una batteria da 3080 mAh con supporto alla ricarica rapida a 5V 2A, il software a bordo è l'immancabile MIUI 9 basata su Android.
